Katlyn is a graduate of 2A Burlington-Edison High School, where she earned four varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track. Her senior year she was voted the Washington State Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year, and was a prepvolleyball.com All- American. Her nationally ranked high school team took home the state championship and although 2A, they beat all other state championship teams from other classifications as well. 

Katlyn went on to become a setter at Mississippi State University with a full ride scholarship. She holds Mississippi State’s record for most aces in a set and most aces in a match.

Katlyn is the head volleyball coach at Tacoma Community College. In 2019, she led TCC to their best NWAC finish in school history (4th place) and was voted West Region Co-Head Coach of the Year. In 2021 she brought home an 8th place finish. The NWAC has 4 regions and 32 teams overall.
